Geranium Rozanne ® wins The Price of the Century  2013

On the occacion of the 100th RHS Chelsea Flower Show an election for the plant of the Century was organized by the organization. More than 7000 interested persons casted their vote where they were given a shortlist of 10 plants to choose among, one plant for each decade.

The winner of this competition and thus the Plant of the Century became the Geranium Rozanne®. This plant, which is also very succesful in Flanders, received the highest amount of votes based on its beautiful, violet-blue flowers, lightly marbled green leaf and its long flourishing period. This Geranium was introduced in the beginning of this Century on the Chelsea Flower Show by Blooms of Bressingham.

Aside this price, the Geranium Rozanne® was also elected as perennial of the year in the Netherlands. This applauded blue Geranium with white heart is named after the mourned Rozanne Waterer who remarked a seed in her garden in 1989. The Geranium Rozanne ® became a vast and a blooming bush.

Price winner Rozanne® is a top supplier for nectar (5/5) but it does not produce any pollen. For this reason the Rozanne® is also regarded as an asexual plant which is in favor of the license holder.
